Ruptured Uterine Artery
Symptoms
A 47 year old woman presented to the Emergency Department with sudden onset severe pelvic pain. She had a history of severe right sided pain at ovulation.
Diagnosis
A Pelvic ultrasound revealed blood in the pelvis. Laparoscopy revealed that endometriosis had grown into the left uterine artery which had ruptured and was haemorrhaging. Both ovaries were normal and mobile.
