Seek a Second Opinion

She Wanted A Baby

SYMPTOMS

A 44 year old woman presented with ongoing pelvic swelling. She had been advised to have a hysterectomy. She was planning a pregnancy using donor eggs. She came for a second opinion.

DIAGNOSIS

A pelvic ultrasound revealed a 90mm fibroid which was distorting the cavity of the uterus.

PROCEDURE

The pictures below show a Laparoscopic Myomectomy with removal of the fibroid from the uterus. The uterus is sutured in layers laparoscopically.

The uterus is a normal size at the end of the operation and suitable for carrying a pregnancy. The operation lasts 90 minutes.

OUTCOME

The woman made an excellent recovery and subsequently had a successful pregnancy using donor eggs.
