Ovarian Cyst in Pregnancy

Ovarian Cyst - Laparoscopic Cystectomy

Symptoms

A 33 year old woman was noted to have a 6cm ovarian cyst at 8 weeks of pregnancy.

Diagnosis

The cyst increased in size to 9.5cm. All tumour markers were normal.

Procedure

A Laparoscopic Cystectomy was performed in the 14th week of pregnancy. Special precautions are taken including using lower gas pressures. The pictures demonstrate a pregnant uterus and a right ovarian cyst. The cyst is removed.

Outcome

The final picture shows a normal right ovary next to the uterus.
