Torrential Menorrhagia Due to Cervical Fibroids

Fibroids - Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

Symptoms

A 47 year old woman presented with torrential menorrhagia

Diagnosis

Examination revealed a prolapsing cervical fibroid. This was confirmed at Pelvic Ultrasound.

Outcome

She subsequently underwent Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy and made an excellent recovery.

The normal appearing uterus at the start. The right ovary is clearly seen as a white structure

A Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy has been performed. The vault has been sutured. Two normal ovaries are seen on either side of the vault.

The uterus has been bisected and the cervical fibroid is seen.
