Pelvic Pain by Adhesions

SYMPTOMS

A 35 year old woman was referred by another gynaecologist. She had experienced intermittent severe pelvic pain for many years.

DIAGNOSIS

She had been reviewed by a gastro-enterologist and colonoscopy was normal. An operative examination was required.

PROCEDURE

An operative laparoscopy was performed which revealed an adhesion between the caecum and right pelvic brim. It is likely that this occurred following an appendicectomy. The adhesion was divided.

OUTCOME

The pain completely resolved.
