Laparoscopic Hysterectomy - Endometriosis

Symptoms

A 48 year old woman presented with worsening pelvic and bowel related pain. She also had anaemia because of torrential menorrhagia.

Diagnosis

She had undergone laparoscopy for excision of endometriosis, adhesiolysis and removed of left ovarian endometrioma 5 years prior.

Procedure

She subsequently underwent Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy, adhesiolysis.

Outcome

She made an excellent recovery and the pain resolved.

The left ovarian ligament is divided to preserve the left ovary.

The bowel adhesions are divided. The normal left ovary is seen. It has healed well after the previous endometrioma was laparoscopically removed.
