Laparoscopic Dermoid Cystectomy & IVF

Symptoms

A 31 year old woman presented with infertility.

Diagnosis

A pelvic Ultrasound revealed a 7cm left ovarian dermoid cyst. Her partner had a semen analysis which revealed a low count (oligo-ospermia). He commenced anti-oxidants.

Procedure

She subsequently underwent Laparoscopic dermoid cystectomy. The follow up semen analysis again revealed a low count.

Outcome

The couple went through one cycle of IVF and conceived a baby girl.
